Spartans Softball Opens SSC Play Against Eckerd
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa softball team welcomes the Eckerd College Tritons to Naimoli Family Softball Field for a three-game weekend series.

Record: Tampa Spartans (5-3, 0-0 SSC), Eckerd Tritons (2-2, 0-0 SSC)
Dates/Times: Friday at 6:00 pm; Saturday, 1:00 pm (DH)

About the Spartans: The Spartans are currently 5-3 on the season. Head coach Leslie Kanter goes into this weekend's series just two wins shy of hitting the 700 career victories milestone with the Spartans. The last outing for the Spartans was a four-game weekend series against the No. 11 Auburn-Montgomery Warhawks and the No. 2 Valdosta State Blazers at the Eagle Classic. The Spartans went 3-1 on the weekend, collapsing the Warhawks and Blazer's win streak. The weekend concluded with a dramatic bases-loaded walk-off walk victory over the Blazers.
About the Tritons: The Tritons return to action after going 2-2 in their first weekend of play against Ursuline College and Lander University. Tritons scored eight runs in their first outing. Five of the eight runs came in their second win over Ursuline. Sophomore Skyler Redish hit a clutch grand slam for the Tritons, recording four of her five RBIs on the weekend.
Series History: The Spartans hold a 97-23 lead over the Tritons, winning the last four games. The last time the two teams met was in February of 2020.
TICKETS: General admission ticket prices for all Tampa regular season athletic events are $10. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted for $5. UT students and faculty/staff are admitted free with a valid Spartan ID.
