
Spartans Jump to No. 9 in NFCA Coaches Poll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UT Tyler held strong to its No. 1 ranking in this week's 2022 Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Patriots (25-1) received 13 first-place votes and 397 points following a 4-0 week in Lone Star Conference (LSC) play, while No. 2 Concordia (24-0) was idle last week and earned three first-place votes and 387 points.
The Spartans move up from No. 13 after sweeping the Saint Leo Lions last weekend, extending their win streak to nine. The Spartans last held the No. 9 spot in the NFCA poll in weeks four, nine, and ten of the 2014 season.
Joining the Spartans, representing the SSC in this week's NFCA poll is Embry-Riddle rounding out at No. 25. The Eagles (13-7) picked up a win at then-No. 20 Texas A&M-Commerce, and finished the week with a 5-1 mark. It is the second time ERAU has been ranked in the NFCA DII Poll, the first time coming in 2018 (No. 23).
The 2022 NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Records reflect games played through March 20.
