No. 11 Spartans Take Series Opener Over Mocs
Lakeland, FLA. – The University of Tampa softball team went up against SSC opponent, the Florida Southern Mocs, on the road for a weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Bottom 1st
Tampa started the game with a costly mistake. After Mary Beth Feldman walked the first batter of the inning, Stephanie Balmer would drop the ball trying to make a double play. The Mocs capitalized and recorded a run with a sacrifice fly out. | 1-0 Mocs
Top 3rd
The Spartans would answer by capitalizing on a mistake from the Mocs. After Mackenzie Allen singled to lead off the inning, Lilly Kiester hit a single that went passed the left fielder, scoring Allen. | Tied 1-1

The Spartans had great situational at-bats in the fifth inning with a leadoff walk by Miranda Perez, a single by Lauren Fantone, and a two-run single by Corynn Miner, giving the Spartans a commanding lead. | 3-1 Spartans
