TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 3 University of Tampa softball team sweeps Florida Tech in their 3-game series against the Panthers.

All-time Series: The Spartans improve to 74-52 overall against the Panthers.
HOW IT HAPPENED — GAME ONE:
- After the Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the opening frame, Tampa would strike back with two sacrifice fly's from Mariah Galhouse and Camryn Wineinger to bring home Lauren Fantone and Lilly Kiester to take a 2-1 lead after 1. End 1 | 2-1 Tampa
- After the Panthers would tie it in the top of the inning, Kiester would rip a timely 2-out bases-loaded single the other way to bring home Kate DeSimone and Avery Perkins. End 2 | 4-2 Tampa
- The Panthers would score two to tie it up. Mid 3 | 4-4 Tie
- Kiester would continue her productive at-bats with a sacrifice fly to left field to bring home Caroline Watson to regain the lead. End 4 | 5-4 Tampa
- The bats came alive in the fifth. Wineinger would lead off the inning with a solo shot to left field. Then the Spartans would follow with five more runs in the inning with RBI's from DeSimone, Watson, Galhouse, and Wineinger, who would get her second at-bat of the inning that would result in another run crossing the plate. End 5 | 11-4 Tampa
- Despite the Panthers scoring three runs in the top of the seventh it wasn't enough. Final | 11-7 Tampa
INSIDE THE STATS — GAME ONE:
- Senior Galhouse received her eleventh win in the circle this season. She is now 11-2. She came into relief after Gwen McGinnis struggled in her start. Galhouse pitched 4 innings, striking out 3; while allowing 3 runs, 4 hits, and 0 walks.

- After the first two innings were scoreless, the Panthers scored in the top of the third; however, Galhouse quickly responded with an RBI single up the middle to bring home Watson and tie the game at 1. End 3 | 1-1 Tie
- Lexie Chevalier would deliver a single down the right field line to bring home Wineinger with 2 outs to take the lead. End 4 | 2-1 Tampa

- Senior All-American Mary Beth Feldman received her eighth win in the circle this season. She is now 8-0. She pitched all 7 innings, striking out 4 while allowing 1 runs, 5 hits, and 1 walk.
