Spartans Complete The Sweep Against The Mocs

LAKELAND, Fla. - No. 4 Tampa complete the sweep against Florida Southern.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Spartans got off to a quick start in the top of the 1st inning with Lilly Kiester reaching first, advancing to third on an error by the Mocs, and Lauren Fantone scoring an unearned run. 
• Kinnah Kreidler would add to Tampa's lead driving in Kiester, and later in the inning Megan deVilliers would single to left field scoring in Kreidler.
• The Mocs would respond with a run of thier own in the bottom of the 1st inning, with Taylor Thomas hitting a double, bringing in Kate Minkle.

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Gwen McGinnis earned the win pitching 6.1 innings, striking out four batters, allowing six hits, giving up one run.
• Kate DeSimone earned her secong save of the season closing out the game for Tampa pitching 0.2 innings.
• Kiester 2-4
• deVilliers 2-4, one RBI.
• Kreidler 1-3, one RBI.
