Tampa Shutout No. 25 Nova Southeastern In Game One
TAMPA, Fla. - No. 4 Tampa Spartans defeat the No. 25 Nova Southeastern Sharks to take game one.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Kate DeSimone and the Tampa defense did their job shutting out Nova Southeastern's first three batters in the top of the 1st putting the Spartans in prime postion for an early start.
- Camryn Wineinger singled to right, advanced to second on the throw, moving Kinnah Kreidler to third, and driving in Lilly Kiester to put Tampa board. Mariah Galhouse would extend the Spartans lead singling through left field, advanving to send on the throw, scoring Wineinger and Kreidler. Tampa would end the 1st inning with a 4-0 lead as Lexie Chevalier singled down the right side driving in Galhouse.
- In the bottom of the 2nd inning Kiester hit a single, bringing in Stephanie Balmer to score the final run of the game.
- The Spartans protected their lead shutting out the Sharks, not allowing them any runs the entirety of the game.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- DeSimone extends her record to 9-0 earning the win against the Sharks. She pithched all 7.0 innings for Tampa, throwing 59 strikes from 90 pitches, allowing five hits, giving up zero runs.
- Kiester 2-3, one RBI.
- Galhouse 1-3, two RBIs.
- Wineinger 1-3, one RBI.
- Chevalier 1-2, one RBI.
