HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME ONE:
- In the top of the 1st Camryn Wineinger homered to center field, bringing in Lexie Chevalier, giving Tampa an early lead.
- Florida Tech responded in the bottom of the inning with a run of thier own, Katie Hogue hitting a single, driving in Celeste Casillas.
- Spartans extended thier lead in the 2nd inning with RBIs from Stephanie Balmer, Lauren Fantone, Lilly Kiester.
- Tampa would add more runs in the 3rd with Wineinger hitting her second home run of the game, and Megan deVilliers hitting a sac fly, allowing Mariah Galhouse to reach home.
- Florida Tech scored two runs in the 5th off a Casillas double to center field, Ella Niles scored, and a Jolie Miracle sac fly to left field, Casillas scored.
- In the 6th inning Kiester scored on a fielding error by the Panthers infield. The last run for Tampa came from a deVilliers home run to left center in the 7th inning.
- Florida Tech scored the last run of the game in the bottom of the 7th inning, unable to catch the Spartans.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Gwen McGinnis started in the circle for tampa pitching 6.0 innings, striking out five, allowing six hits, giving up three runs.
- Mary Beth Feldman closed out the game for the Spartans pitching 1.0 innings, allowing two hits, and conceding one run.
- Wineinger 2-2, 3 RBIs.
- deVilliers 1-2, 2 RBIs.
HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME TWO:
- Camryn Wineinger got Tampa off the mark in the top of the 3rd inning singling to left center, scoring Lexie Chevalier. Megan deVilliers would add to the score hitting a double down the left side, driving in Mariah Galhouse and Wineinger.
- In the 4th inning Galhouse would further extend Tampa's lead hitting a grand slam. That would be follwed by a Kinnah Kreidler home run.
- Joey Trawick added a run in the 5th singling to left field, scoring Abigail Siegel.
- Florida Tech got on the board in the 5th inning off a series of errors by Tampa, scoring four runs in the inning.
- Tampa responded scoring two runs in the 6th, and Wineinger hitting another home run, bringing in Lauren Fantone in the 7th inning.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Galhouse pitched 4.2 innings, striking out one, allowing seven hits, and conceding four runs.
- Kate DeSimone pitched 2.1 innings, striking out three, allowing one hit, conceding zero runs.
