Camryn Wineinger Named SSC Player Of The Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa softball player Camryn Wineinger has been named the recipient of the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week award, as announced Monday by the SSC office.
Wineinger is awarded Player of the Week by helping Tampa to a series sweep over SSC opponents Florida Tech. The Plant City, Florida native started in all three games for the Spartans leading the team in batting average (.778), SLG% (1.889), OB% (.846), and runs scored (8). Going 7-for-9 at the plate, Wineinger hammered three home runs and batted in six runners to help Tampa win 9-0 in game one, 9-4 in game two, and 13-4 in game three.
The seniors strongest performace of the weekend would be in game two where she went 2-for-2 at the plate, hitting two home runs and batting in three runners. This week's accolade is the first of her career.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of April 1st - April 7, 2024. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
