HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lions got things started in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Sydney Cline reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Briana Neal.
- Tampa responded in the next inning after LillyKiester singled, advanced to second on the throw, and Lauren Fantone scoring an unearned run.
- Spartans took the lead in the 5th inning as Camryn Wineinger was walked, Lexie Chevalier advanced to second, Kiester advanced to third, and Abigail Siegel scored.
- Cline tied the score for Saint Leo in the 6th inning singling to left field, driving in Nia DeBenedittiis, untimately sending the game into extra innings.
- Alexa Russo would be the catalyst for Tampa as she tripled down the rf line scoring Megan deVilliers, giving the Spartans the lead in the top of the 8th inning.
- Mariah Galhouse and the Tampa defence would close out the inning securing the victory.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Kate DeSimone started in the circle pitching for 6.0 innings, striking out two batters, allowing six hits, and conceding two runs.
- Galhouse earned the win pitching for 2.0 innings, striking out two batters, allowing three hits, concedeing zero runs.
- Russo 2-3, one RBI.
