SSC Champs Dominate All-Conference Awards
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference presents the 2025 softball postseason awards. Thirty-five student-athletes from nine member institutions are recognized as All-Conference. Tampa leads the way with 10 award winners, including Pitcher of the Year.
SSC Softball All-Conference History: All-SSC Teams | Players & Coaches of the Year
The league office recognizes Hannah Taylor from Eckerd as the 2025 SSC Player of the Year. The sophomore from Brooksville, Florida, finished the regular season leading the conference in hits (75), home runs (13), runs batted in (59), batting average (.446), slugging percentage (.762), and OPS (1.281). The catcher's banner season ranks her Top-20 all-time in SSC single-season home runs, home runs per game (.26), RBI, RBI per game (1.18), hits per game (1.50), and slugging percentage. Defensively, Taylor totaled 193 putouts and 60 assists in 269 chances for a .941 fielding percentage. She joins Sherry Howell (1993) as the only Tritons named Player of the Year in softball.
Tampa's Gwen McGinnis is honored as the 2025 SSC Pitcher of the Year. The Tallahassee, Florida native made 23 appearances in the circle, including 15 starts where she threw 12 complete games. The junior ended the regular season with a 15-3 record, 114.2 innings pitched, 104 strikeouts, a .203 batting average against, a 1.04 ERA, and a .850 WHIP. McGinnis ranks Top-10 nationally in ERA, strikeout-to-walk ratio (8:00), WHIP, and walks allowed per seven innings (0.79). She is the seventh Spartan athlete to earn Pitcher of the Year laurels, second consecutiveA.A.
Sarah Langlie of Barry gathers Freshman of the Year laurels. The designated player from Melbourne, Florida, finished the regular season ranked Top-5 in SSC batting average (.406), on-base percentage (.461), runs scored (39), hits (69), runs batted in (45), at-bats (170), and doubles (17). Defensively, Langlie sported a perfect fielding percentage with 38 putouts and one assist. She is the eighth Buccaneer to win Freshman of the Year, the first since 2015B.
Saint Leo's Erin Kinberger is voted SSC Coach of the Year for the third time by her peers. Kinberger led the Lions to a .700 (21-9) conference winning percentage, the No. 14 NFCA ranking, a runner-up finish in the SSC championship race, and an NCAA regional hosting bid. She remains the third Saint Leo skipper to win Coach of the YearC.
Mariah Galhouse from Tampa highlights the repeat All-SSC winners in 2025. The utility player from Spring Hill, Florida, becomes the first softball athlete in SSC history to collect six First Team honors and the first SSC Softball athlete to be named First Team All-SSC in five separate seasons. Her teammate, Lilly Kiester, collects a fourth consecutive All-SSC honor, which includes three First Team nods. A total of 12 players repeat as All-SSC in 2024, including a former Pitcher of the Year and two former Freshman of the Year winners.
All-conference selections and individual award winners are determined by a vote of Sunshine State Conference head coaches with oversight and approval from member institution Athletic Directors.
