Bio
Jeff Pegram joined the University of Tampa softball coaching staff in the summer of 2024. Pegram previously served as an assistant coach at Sunshine State Conference opponent Eckerd College.
From September 2018 to June 2024, Pegram served as the assistant softball coach at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. In this role, he facilitated all operations of the softball program, including recruiting, in-game strategizing, practice planning, strength training, conditioning, budgeting, scheduling, and scouting. He developed outfielders and hitters by implementing specific fundamentals and drills, led PSAs on campus visits, held the first base coach role in all championship and non-championship segment games, and maintained the softball field and bullpen areas throughout the academic year. He was also talked with connecting with local businesses to assist in fundraising efforts and community outreach.
Before his tenure at Eckerd College, Jeff was the head junior varsity softball coach at Panther Creek High School in Cary, N.C., from June 2016 to August 2018. He managed all daily operations, including strength training and conditioning, directing practices, leading the team in contests, fundraising, and developing student-athlete success. He also hired and supervised an assistant coach and volunteer assistant coach, and oversaw arrangements for away contests, including travel, meals, and athlete supervision.
Pegram began his coaching career as a softball student manager at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., from October 2012 to May 2016. He participated in every practice and off-season workout, charted in-game statistics, and coached in multiple summer camps teaching offensive and defensive skills. His contributions helped the team achieve the 2013 ACC Tournament Championship and make NCAA Tournament appearances in 2013 and 2014.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in sport management from North Carolina State University, which he earned in May 2017. His related coursework included sport marketing, sport programming, sport finance and economics, mathematics of finance, public speaking, and diversity and inclusion in sport.
