Tampa Women Dismantle Nova Southeastern in Regular Season Finale
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's basketball team finished out the 2006-07 regular season with a 57-41 victory over Nova Southeastern. The Spartans conclude the regular season with a 20-7 record, marking the first back-to-back 20-win seasons for UT. Tampa finished the SSC season 12-4 as Nova Southeastern drops to 9-18 overall and 7-9 in SSC play.
Sheena Walton was one of three Spartans to score double figures as she also notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Alexa Kane also added a team-high 14 points as DeShaydia Mackey chipped in 10 points.
Kane and Mackey also led the team with six assists. Erica Woodard gained the start after sitting out the previous game with an injury and recorded eight points and eight rebounds.
The Spartans will now travel to Boca Raton for the Sunshine State Conference tournament where they will play on Thursday, March 1. The time and opponent has yet to be determined.
