Tampa’s Sheena Walton Named Honorable Mention All-American
ATLANTA, Ga. - University of Tampa center Sheena Walton has been chosen as an honorable mention All-American by The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Eastman Kodak Company. This year's team marks the 25th year of the Division II Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team, which began in 1983. Selection committees in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions select ten of the top women's basketball players in the nation to be honored.
Walton concluded the 2006-07 season as the Spartans leading scorer (13.6) and rebounder (8.2). She also ranked second in the nation in blocks (3.8 bpg) and 20th with a 54 percent field goal percentage. The first-team all-SSC performer was also the lone player in the league to rank in the top five in both scoring and rebounding.
