Women's Basketball Set to Host Tritons in Battle of the Bay
Conference rival Eckerd College will travel over the bay to take on the Spartans in the Bob Martinez Athletic Center
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's basketball team will host the Eckerd College Tritons on Wednesday November 15th. The women will compete at 5:30 pm.

Last Time Out: The Spartans Hosted a pair of competitors for the Tampa Classic Tournament. First they took on the Badgers from Spring Hill College and defeated them in their home opener. Junior transfer Emily Eshoo led all Spartans with 26 points in her Spartan career debut. Junior Molly Franson had a team high 11 rebounds while senior Karma Jeremie had a team high four assists. Staja Tyghter made her first start as a Spartan after transferring from Georgia State, the junior was the second leading point scorer with 15 points. The next competition was between the Spartans and the Wolves of University of West Georgia. The Spartans dominated the matchup while Franson and Tyghter topped the team charts with 16 points each. Tyghter also tallied her first double-double as a Spartan when she added 11 rebounds to her 16 points.
About the Spartans (Women's): The Spartans are led offensively by junior Eshoo who is leading the SSC for points per game with 20.3. She is followed by junior Tyghter and Jeremie with 15.5 and 10., respectively. As a team, the Spartans are averaging 70 points per game and have a 40.4 field goal percentage.
About the Tritons: Kacie Juday leads the Tritons with 22 points averaging 11 per game. She is followed by Yarden Danan who is averaging 10 points per game. As a team, the Tritons are averaging 73 points per game, 37 rebounds per game, and shooting 43.2 percent from the field.
Series History: The Spartans lead the all-time series record over the Tritons with a 75-17 record.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
