Dori Nagy Picks Up SSC Honors
Named defensive player of the week following MVP performance at North Star Invitational.
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa women's basketball player Dori Nagy was honored by the Sunshine State Conference as its Defensive Player of the Week following a pair of Spartan victories in Alaska.
The sophomore from Pecs, Hungary was honored after being named MVP of 2018 Mt. McKinley State Bank North Star Invitational. She registered a double-double in first of two road games in Alaska with 10 points and 11 rebounds against Gannon University, while also tallying a pair of assists and a steal in the victory.
In the finale against the host University of Alaska - Fairbanks, the sophomore pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds, including 13 on the defensive end. Nagy scored nine points with three assists and a steal to conclude tournament and help the Spartans to a 5-0 record. With the play of Nagy, Tampa held Gannon and Alaska - Fairbanks below their season averages for points per game.
