Staja Tyghter Signs Professional Deal in Norway
TAMPA, Fla. - Former University of Tampa women's basketball standout Staja Tyghter has agreed to a professional contract with Baerum Oslo of the Norwegian Basketball League.
She will compete in the Kvinneligaen Top League in her first professional season.
A two-year letterwinner for the Spartans after transferring from Georgia State University, Tyghter was named first-team All-Sunshine State Conference as a senior after being on the second-team as a junior. The Orlando native was also named to the SSC All-Newcomer Team in 2017-18.
This year, she was third in the conference with 8.4 rebounds per game and she logged the most minutes in the conference (1,133). She also averaged 14.1 points per game while shooting 38.7 percent from 3-point range. She also amassed 1,000 career collegiate points between Georgia State and Tampa.
