Julia Ingram Earns Freddie Solomon Community Service Award
TAMPA, Fla - The University of Tampa athletics department is proud to announce its selection of Julia Ingram, a senior women's basketball player, as the recipient of the 2020-21 Freddie Solomon Community Service Award. The award is named after the former UT standout and two-time Super Bowl champion with the San Francisco 49ers.
Ingram has appeared in 80 games across her UT career, with 40 starts. She carries career averages of 5.6 points per game, 1.3 rebounds per game, and a 44.5% shooting percentage. She has never shot less than 38% from three with a career average of 41%.
A Clearwater, Fla. native and senior at UT, Ingram's commitment to community service has been a four-year-long conquest. She is a two-time and current NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) executive board president. SAACs are made up entirely of student-athletes and provide insight on the student-athlete experience and offer input on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athletes lives on campus.
She has worked with organizations like Feeding Tampa Bay, which focuses on providing food to over one million food-insecure families in the 10-county area of West Central Florida. Ingram's role with the NCAA SAACs allows her to lead community service initiatives with organizations
like the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Relay For Life. In addition to her community service work, Ingram has served on the SAAC budget committee and aided in mental health initiatives. About Freddie Solomon
