Tampa Women's Basketball Adds Sofia Allen

TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa head women's basketball coach Tom Jessee has announced the addition of Sofia Allen.

Allen is a recent graduate from Scott High School in Kentucky where she played under coach Steve Brown. While in high school she led her team to the 2A State Finals and is a part of the 1,000-point club. Allen played her club basketball for Kentucky Premier under David Tapley.

The incoming freshman's success doesn't stop off the court. Allen was a member of National Honor Society and graduated with Magna Cum Laude while also being involved in her community. She was presented with the 2021 Donna LJ Murphy Award. The award is given to a student-athlete who demonstrates outstanding athletic ability and has proven academic credentials.

Allen comes to Tampa as a well-rounded student-athlete. She will enroll at the University of Tampa in the fall of 2021.
