TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's basketball team bulldoze their way through the Florida Tech Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter: Melijah Sullivan started scoring for the Spartans, followed by Aliyah Abney making a three. From here, Tampa went on a run small run before being stopped by a timeout. Their defense was remarkable stopping Florida Tech from scoring and making them commit offensive fouls. At one point, Tampa went on a 12-1 run for almost three minutes. Abney led the quarter with seven points and Erin Antosh followed behind with six. Kayla Bonilla led the quarter with four defensive rebounds. || Score: 21-8 (Tampa)
Second Quarter: Tampa started the second quarter slow, but Dori Nagy stopped it quickly. Abney had an impressive defensive save stopping her toes at the line preventing herself from going out of bounds. Tampa's fantastic defense continued resulting in Florida Tech going on a scoring drought for over four minutes. Nagy went 3-5 from the field leading the quarter with nine points. || Score: 32-19 (Tampa)
Third Quarter: Similar to the second quarter, Tampa started slowly committing two early fouls giving Florida Tech a little momentum. Nagy began the scoring on the free throw line making one of two. From there on, Sullivan made a heart-stopping layup that sat on the rim for a few seconds before rolling in. Sullivan led the quarter with three points. || Score: 44-34 (Tampa)
Fourth Quarter: Abney kicked off the scoring at the line making both free throws. Bonilla led the way aggressively on defense. Nagy was persistent on offense with two and-1 finishes. Despite being up by as much as 20 points, Tampa never stopped fighting on both ends of the floor. || Final: 60-41 (Tampa)
