Sydney Kin Chosen as SSC Player of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa standout Sydney Kin continued to receive recognition as the Sunshine State Conference announced her as its Player of the Week for a pair of performances against league opponents.

Kin is awarded Player of the Week honors for the fourth time in 2022-23 with her play in Tampa's wins over Saint Leo and Florida Southern. In a 78-62 win against Saint Leo, Kin tallied a 20-point / 11-rebound double-double. The Carey, Ohio product then recorded a 20-point / 12-rebound double-double, both game highs, in a 65-44 win against FSC. Kin added two blocks and a steal in the victory. Last week, the forward/center totaled 40 points by shooting 56% from the field (15-27) and 77% from the line (10-13). Kin averaged 20.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.0 steals, and 33.5 minutes per game.

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of February 6 - 12, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
