Sydney Kin Repeats as SSC Player of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa women's basketball player Sydney Kin continues to rack up Sunshine State Conference accolades as she repeats as the SSC Player of the Week following a pair of victories last week for the Spartans.

Kin repeats as Player of the Week with her play in Tampa's wins over No. 7 Eckerd and Nova Southeastern. In a Top-10 matchup at Eckerd, Kin tallied a 24-point / 13-rebound double-double which piloted the Spartans to an 84-79 overtime win. The Carey, Ohio, product scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down nine rebounds in an 80-53 win against Nova Southeastern. Last week, the forward/center totaled 59 points by shooting 81% from the field (21-26) and 73% from the line (8-11). Kin averaged 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 34.0 minutes per game. The weekly award is her seventh of the season.

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of February 13 - 19, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
