No. 3 Spartans Defeat Florida Tech on Senior Day

TAMPA, FL – The No.3 University of Tampa women's basketball team defeat Florida Tech on Senior Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st QUARTER

The game started with Tampa winning the jump ball. On Tampa's third possession, an assist from Melijah Sullivan to Sydney Kin puts the first points on the board for Tampa. Florida Tech responded with a driving layup. After getting fouled, Sullivan goes to the line and converts 1-2. Kin grabs the offensive rebound from Sullivan's miss, passes to Mya Giusto and she converts for a three. Florida Tech then hit two back to back three pointers putting them up 10-9 with 4:22 left in the first. Another three from Giusto puts Tampa back on top. A block from Kin causes a shot clock violation on Florida Tech. Tampa closes out the first quarter shooting the lights out on a 10-0 run. 2nd QUARTER

The second quarter began with Florida Tech getting the scoring started. Kin connects with her second block of the game. A bullet pass from Giusto to Kin puts Tampa's first points on the board this quarter. Tampa's forceful defense caused Florida Tech to go through a scoring drought. Kin gets her third and fourth block of the game helping her team on both ends of the floor. Tampa closes out the second quarter with a three from Eleanore Marciszewski. Score: 33-19 (Tampa)

3rd QUARTER

The third quarter starts Sarah Jones connecting on a three-point shot. Florida Tech came into this quarter with more intensity going 3-3 from the field. A transition pass from Jones to Giusto adds to Tampa's lead. In the last three minutes, both teams experienced a scoring drought. An assist from Jones to Kin ends the scoring drought on Tampa's end. Score: 46-34 (Tampa)

4th QUARTER

The last quarter starts with Florida Tech beginning the scoring. Another block from Kin adds to her block party of the afternoon. A three from Giusto cuts the three-point drought that Tampa went through for most of the second half. Tampa ends up going 4-4 from the field. They finished the game on a 13-2 run.
