Audrey Ramsey Named Academic All-American
AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday the 2022-23 Academic All-America® women's basketball teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, recognizing University of Tampa student-athlete Audrey Ramsey as an Academic All-American.
A graduate student, Ramsey is in her fourth year at UT and carries a perfect 4.0 GPA. She received her degree in cybersecurity and information technology management.
She has also excelled on the court for the Spartans, starting all 34 games this season for the NCAA South Region champions. Helping her team to a 33-1 overall record, Ramsey averages 9.4 points per game. She also leads all Spartans with 173 assists and ranks third on the team with 29 steals.
Ramsey becomes just the third student-athlete in program history to earn the honor, and the first since Emily Eshoo in 2019. Penny Dickos was also a three-time honoree from 1985-87. The University of Tampa now has 55 total Academic All-American recipients.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program.
Six of the 16 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women's basketball teams sustain an unblemished 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.92, with the entire Division II team maintaining a collective average GPA of 3.87.
