
Spartan Duo Named to WBCA All-American Team
ATLANTA – The University of Tampa had two student-athletes recognied as the 2023 WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America team was announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
UT standout Sydney Kin was recognized as an All-American, while Melijah Sullivan earned a spot as an honorable mention selection.
Kin, a senior from Carey, Ohio, of University of Tampa was selected as the D2CCA Women's Basketball South Region Player of the Year while also being named the 2023 Sunshine States Conference Player of the year. Kin is averaging 19.7 points and 10.5 rebounds per game this season. She is shooting 68.3 percent from the field. She was recently named the MVP of the NCAA South Regional, which the Spartans took in dominant fashion.
Sullivan was previously recognized as a D2CCA second team all-South Region member. A 1,000-point career scorer at UT, Sullivan is second on the Spartans in scoring at 14.9 points per game. She recently earned a spot on the NCAA South Regional all-tournament team.
The Player of the Year and the 10-member Coaches' All-America team in each division are selected by a committee of WBCA member coaches in that division.
