
Zoe Piller Named WBCA All-American Honorable Mention
Atlanta, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced today the NCAA Division II award winners for the 2024-25 season. Zoe Piller was tabbed as a WBCA Honerable Mention All-American for her dominant 2024-25 season. The Senior from Brentwood, Tennessee is the sixth Spartan to earn this honor from the WBCA, joining Crystal Ashley (1994 and1995), April Lindsey (1996), Trysta Morenz (2000), Sheena Walton (2007 and 2008), Aliyah Abney (2022), and Melijah Sullivan (2023).
Zoe Piller was one of the key contributors on a Tampa team that won 26 games and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for a sixth straight year. She helped the Spartans finish ranked in the top ten in field goal percentage and least amount of fouls a game for the entire year. Zoe was also named to the Sunshine State Conference All-First Team and All-Defesive Team for her strong effort this season. Piller led the conference in field goal percentage (61%) and field goals made (186) which helped her average 17 points a game. She was also second in the conference in total points scored with 493 on the year. Defensively she was dominant in the paint, holding multiple centers across the league under their averages. Zoe was also top five in the conference in total rebounds (218) and rebounds a game (7.5) while recording a total of 7 double-doubles.
While the Spartans did not complete thier post-season goals, Zoe Piller was a force in the SSC Tournament and the NCAA South Regional. In the SSC Tournament opener, Piller dropped a 17 point, 11 rebound double-double to lead Tampa past Lynn. In a semi-final loss to nationally ranked Nova Southeastern, Zoe went for 15 points and 5 rebounds on 66% true shooting. In the first round of the NCAA Tounrament, Zoe was outstanding in a losing effort, going for 20 points and finishing one rebound shy of double-double.
Zoe Piller's hard work and dedication has earned her mulitple spots in the Tampa Women's Basketball record book and her outstadnig 2024-25 season capped off an amazing career. She totaled 1,925 points (1,122 in a Spartan uniform) and 1,049 rebounds in her stellar four year career.
