
Women's Golf Opens Spring Season at Flagler
Spartans improve on first-round score to finish 11th.
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 11 University of Tampa women's golf team began spring competition at the Flagler World Invitational.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
UT Finish: 11th, 639 strokes (332-307)
Team Champion: Nova Southeastern, 585 strokes

- Kiira Riihijarvi | 12th overall, 151
- Sofia Cadavid | 30th overall, 157
- Heather Kipniss | 54th overall, 164
- Jess Wild | 74th overall, 168
- Sara DeMarco | 80th overall, 170
OTHER NOTABLES:
- Riihijarvi was the top Spartan golfer for the fourth time this season.
- UT's top finisher, Riihijarvi, posted rounds of 82 and 69 as her second-round score represented a team-best.
- Tampa's top golfer in Monday's opening round was Cadavid with an 81.
- Head coach Missey Jones did not register any individuals.
- A total of 18 teams competed.
- Joining UT and team champion Nova Southeastern from the Sunshine State Conference were Florida Tech (3rd), Saint Leo (4th), Lynn (7th) and Palm Beach Atlantic (12th).
UP NEXT:
The Spartans continue spring play at the Florida Southern Invitational on February 18-20. The tournament will be played at Grasslands Country Club in Lakeland.
