Fall Season Comes to Close as Spartans Finish Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Invite
KAPOLEI, Hawaii – The University of Tampa women's golf team completed its first-ever tournament in Hawaii, placing seventh overall at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational

- Ana Maria Jimenez Rios | 32nd overall, 230 (+14)
- Heather Kipniss | 48th overall, 246 (+30)
OTHER NOTABLES:
- Montagnino was the top performer for the Spartans for the second time this season, after pacing UT at the opening Dallas Baptist Invitational.
- A third-round 72 from Montagnino went down as the best round for a Spartan.
- After opening with an 80, Jimenez Rios closed out the event with respective rounds of 77 and 73.
- Head coach Missey Jones did not register any individuals.
- A total of nine teams competed, with Tampa being the lone non-NCAA Division I participant.
- Baylor captured the team title by 30 strokes over Santa Clara.
- Gurleen Kaur of Baylor was the medalist with a three-round score of 208 as she edged teammate Britta Snyder by one stroke.
- The Bears entered as one of the top teams in Division I with a No. 6 national ranking.
- Tampa was the other participant who was ranked, with the Spartans coming in at No. 19 in the Golfstat NCAA Division II rankings.
UP NEXT:
With the fall season complete, Tampa will prepare for a spring season that features four tournaments before the postseason. The Spartans open the spring season at the World Golf Invitational on February 6-8 at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.
