SSC Tabs Emilie Bjørge as Golfer of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference has recognized University of Tampa women's golfer Emilie Bjørge as its Golfer of the Week, which was announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Bjørge claims Golfer of the Week for her performance at the BarryU Invite in Miami Lakes, Florida. The Norwegian claimed her first collegiate title by finishing as the only player under par for the event. Bjørge shot 1-under, 215 following rounds of 72-72-71 at the event, leading all players in par four scoring by four strokes. With the play of Bjørge, Tampa won the team competition by seven strokes over a field of 13 teams, including six teams with higher rankings.

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 21 - 27, 2022. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
