SSC Women's Golf All-Conference History: All-SSC Teams| Golfers & Coaches of the Year
League coaches select Barry's Alice Götbring, Nina Klug, and Shannon Sykora as Golfer, Freshman, and Coach of the Year in 2022. This year's Buccaneers squad is the first to sweep the individual awards since 2010 and the fourth team to do so in the conference's history1.
Götbring, a junior from Vaxholm, Sweden, won four tournaments in 2021-22, including most recently at the SSC Championship. She finished as runner-up three times in her remaining five tournaments and has posted a Top-2 finish in four straight events. Götbring's 72.65 scoring average across 26 rounds is tops in the SSC this year. She is the second Barry Buccaneer to win the award and the first since 20182. Currently, she is ranked 249th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
This year, Klug finished Top-10 four times for the Buccaneers, including back-to-back runner-up performances in October and a seventh-place finish at the conference championship. The product of Dormagen, Germany, owns a 74.83 scoring average across her 29 rounds this season. She is the fourth Barry women's golfer to win Freshman of the Year and the first since 20173.
For the second time, Sykora is selected as SSC Coach of the Year by his peers. Under his leadership, the No. 3 ranked Buccaneers squad tallied four team victories, including the SSC championship, and finished no lower than fourth during the 2021-22 season. Sykora remains the first Barry women's golf coach to be named SSC Coach of the Year.
Götbring and Francesca Santoni of Saint Leo University highlight the repeat All-SSC winners this year. Both golfers repeat as All-SSC First Team honorees from 2021. Sofia Garcia Austt of Nova Southeastern receives All-SSC accolades for the third consecutive season. She was named First Team in 2019 and Second Team in 2021. Alice Gatti of Lynn University moves from Second Team accolades in 2021 to the First Team this year. NSU's Hanna Ahlander repeats as a Second Team honoree. She was also Freshman of the Year in 2019.
