Laila Forstmane Leads Spartans in Season Opener
DENTON, Texas – The University of Tampa women's golf team opened its 2022-23 campaign at the DBU Women's Classic, featuring several of the nation's top teams.

- Ana Maria Jimenez Rios | 25th overall, 219 (+3)
- Emily Montagnino | 31st overall, 220 (+4)
- Maxime Holletschek | 42nd overall, 223 (+7)
- Emilie Bjørge | 65th overall, 228 (+12)
OTHER NOTABLES:
- Forstmane opened with a 74, and carded a 71 in the final two rounds to lead the way for the Spartans.
- Montagnino had a 70 in round two, representing the top round for UT golfers.
- Freshman Holletschek made her collegiate debut for the Spartans.
- UT's second round 286 was second in program history for lowest round.
- Head coach Missey Jones did not register any individuals.
- A total of 16 teams competed.
- Maria Hoyos from Lynn was the medalist with a 204 (-12). She won by two strokes.
- Joining UT from the Sunshine State Conference were Lynn (2), Saint Leo (3) and Barry (15).
- Tampa, ranked No. 15 in the nation, was one of 15 nationally-ranked teams to compete. Host DBU is No. 1 in the nation while Lynn is No. 2.
- Four Spartans appear in the individual national rankings, including Jimenez-Rios (23), Forstmane (76), Montagnino (75) and Bjørge (100).
