Spartans Open Spring Season Third at World Golf Invite
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's golf team opened its spring season at the World Golf Invitational, placing third overall.

OTHER NOTABLES:
- Jimenez-Rios finished as the top Spartan for the second time this season.
- An opening round 71 from Jimenez-Rios and Forstmane represented the top individual rounds for Tampa.
- Head coach Missey Jones did not register any individuals.
- A total of 15 teams competed.
- Nova Southeastern's Olivia Gronborg was the individual medalist, shooting a 209 to win by one stroke.
- Joining Tampa and team champion Nova Southeastern from the Sunshine State Conference were Rollins (2), Barry (5), Embry-Riddle (11), Florida Southern (12), Saint Leo (13) and Palm Beach Atlantic (15).
- The tournament featured 11 nationally-ranked teams. No. 9 Tampa was joined by fellow top-10 opponents No. 7 Nova Southeastern and No. 10 Rollins.
- Several nationally-ranked players competed, including No. 21 Jimenez Rios, No. 44 Forstmane and No. 56 Montagnino.
