
WGCA Announces All-Americans With Ana Maria Jimenez Rios on First Team
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA )has announced the 2023-24 student-athlete national awards for Division II Women's Collegiate Golf. The list of honorees included University of Tampa student-athlete Ana Maria Jimenez Rios.
Jimenez Rios, a junior from Merida, Mexico, recently concluded her season as an individual performer at the 2024 NCAA National Championships. This marks the third consecutive season where Jimenez Rios has earned WGCA honors, being named a second-team All-American in 2022-23 and honorable mention in 2021-22. She is just the second Spartan All-American, joining former teammate Kiira Riihijarvi.
This caps a junior season where Jimenez Rios was honored as the Sunshine State Conference Golfer of the Year and member of the SSC All-Championships Team. She also became a three-time first-team all-South Region performer.
In 2023-24, she would compete in nine tournaments, finishing first in two while being inside the top-five in four. Her scoring average was 73.19, which was +1 on the year.
The NCAA Division II PING WGCA Player of the Year, Division II WGCA Freshman of the Year Presented by StrackaLine, and WGCA Division II First Team All-Americans were recognized at the Division II NCAA Women's Golf Championship in Winter Garden, Florida. The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches.
