Spartans Return to Links at Saint Leo Invitational
DADE CITY, Fla. - At the 2024 Saint Leo Invitational, held on October 21-22, the University of Tampa women's golf team delivered a solid performance, finishing 9th overall with a total score of 896 (+32) on the par 72, 6,090-yard Lake Jovita Golf Course.
The tournament was won by Anderson (S.C.), who posted an outstanding 12-under-par total of 852, led by individual winner Aly Francis, who finished at 209 (-7).
Top Tampa Golfers
- The top performer for Tampa was Ana Maria Jimenez, who tied for 5th place individually with an impressive three-round total of 213 (-3), showing strong consistency throughout the tournament with rounds of 72, 71, and 70. Jimenez was one of five players to finish the event under par.
- Freshman Justine Bayle followed with a tie for 29th place, posting rounds of 72, 74, and 79 for a total of 225 (+9).
- Another freshman, Maria Mora, shot rounds of 78, 75, and 73 to finish tied for 36th at 226 (+10).
- Grace Ward tied for 54th, while Ella Mason finished 61st, and Silvia Barnes tied for 62nd.
- Head coach Chris Grace also entered freshman Alice Jonsson.
