
Three Top-10 Finishers Propel Tampa at Space Coast Championship
VIERA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's golf team delivered a strong performance at the Space Coast Collegiate Championship, securing a tie for second place in the 12-team field. The Spartans posted rounds of 292, 293, and 302 for a total score of 887 (+23) on the par-72, 6,024-yard course at Duran Golf Club.
Team Standings
Tampa showcased its consistency throughout the tournament, finishing just behind champion Nova Southeastern, which carded an 868 (+4) overall. The Spartans shared second place with Lynn, both recording 887 (+23). Eastern Florida State, Montevallo, and Seminole State all tied for fourth place at 919 (+55).
Top Performers
- Leading the way for the Spartans was Ana Maria Jimenez, who secured a 7th-place finish with rounds of 73, 75, and 74 for a total of 222 (+6).
- Justine Bayle and Kelly Shanahan both tied for 8th place, finishing at 223 (+7). Bayle improved significantly in her second round, posting a stellar 71 after an opening-round 78, while Shanahan remained steady with scores of 72, 72, and 79.
- Maria Mora also turned in a strong effort, tying for 14th place with a 226 (+10) after rounds of 76, 75, and 75.
- Ella Mason rounded out Tampa's scoring lineup with a tie for 22nd place at 229 (+13), highlighted by a first-round 71.
- Individually, Maxime Holletschek recorded rounds of 83, 80, and 75 to finish at 238 (+22), placing 43rd overall.
