
Justine Bayle Named SSC Freshman of the Year as Ana Maria Jimenez Rios, Kelly Shanahan Also Honored
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Sixteen student-athletes have been named to the 2025 Sunshine State Conference women's golf All-Conference teams. Lynn's Amelia Ruiz Topali wins Golfer of the Year, as the University of Tampa's Justine Bayle wins Freshman of the Year, and Nova Southeastern's Heather Wall is named Coach of the Year. Voting for the All-SSC Women's Golf Teams was conducted among the league's women's golf coaches. Joining second-team All-SSC choice Bayle were teammates Ana Maria Jimenez Rios and Kelly Shanahan.

Ruiz Topali, a sophomore from Santiago, Chile, won three events and recorded six Top-3 finishes in 2024-25. Her wins came at the William Beall Fall Classic, Ralph Hayes Toyota D2 Elite Invitational, and Lady Moc Classic. She also finished second at the SSC Championship. Ruiz Topali sports a fifth-ranked 71.7 adjusted scoring average across 29 rounds and a 631-51-12 comparative record. Ruiz Topali is the fourth Fighting Knight to win the award and the first since 20231.
Bayle, a Paris, France product, recorded three Top-10 finishes for the Spartans in 2024-25, including a win at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. Bayle ranks 40th nationally in Clippd's rankings with a 73.6 adjusted scoring average and a 387-143-20 comparative record in her 23 rounds this season. She is the first Spartan to win Freshman of the Year.
Wall is honored as SSC Coach of the Year by her peers after steering the Sharks to the program's first SSC Championship title since 2018 and their seventh overall. In addition to their SSC title, the Sharks won the Barry Invitational and the Space Coast Collegiate Championship. Wall is the sixth Nova Southeastern women's golf coach to earn SSC Coach of the Year. She previously won the award in 2018.
Tampa's Ana Maria Jimenez Rios highlights the repeat All-SSC honorees, as she earns her second consecutive All-SSC First Team selection. Lynn's Charlotte Brook returns to the First Team after being the SSC Freshman of the Year and a First Team selection in 2024. Carla Alvarez from Rollins and Sandra Eriksson from Eckerd also repeat as All-SSC from last year.
