Late Goal Lifts Molloy Over Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team dropped a close game to Molloy College Saturday afternoon at the Naimoli Family Athletics and Intramural Complex. A late goal from Molloy led them to a 14-13 victory over Tampa. The loss drops the Spartans to 0-2, while the Lions improve to 1-1.
The UT attack was led by Amanda Voges as she collected five points on the day. Voges netted four goals, and dished out one assist. Madison Creech also contributed with four goals on the afternoon. Creech also was tied for the team lead, as she picked up three ground balls. Amanda Rom won draw controls on the day, as she also contributed with a goal and an assist.
Casey Naab scored four goals on the day to the Lions to lead the team, while Katie O'Brien added three goals and two assists. O'Brien's goal with 2:07 left in the game,proved to be the game winner for Molloy.
The Spartans return to action on February 20 as they travel to South Carolina to take on the Limestone College Saints. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
