GAFFNEY, S.C.- The Tampa Spartans traveled to South Carolina to take on the No. 5 Limestone Saints. The Limestone offense was too much, as they defeated Tampa 18-6.
Tampa started the night off strong as they scored the first goal of the game, as sophomore Amanda Voges put one in the back of the net just 22 seconds into the game. Limestone then went on a run, as they scored nine out of the next 10 goals to take a 9-2 lead. The Saint would go into the second half with a 14-5 lead.
In the second half, the Spartans defense would buckle down, as they would only allow four goals to the Saints.
Voges and freshman Amanda Rom would lead the way for UT, as they each netted three goals on the night. Sam McCarrick scored five goals for LC.
Tampa will be back in action on Sunday, as they Newberry in a road matchup. The game is scheduled to begin at noon.
