TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa Spartans dropped a 19-15 matchup against the Savannah College of Art and Design Bees on Monday night at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex.
The Spartans were able to jump on the Bees to start the game, as they held a 3-0 lead just five minutes into the contest. However the Bees were able to battle back and tie the game at four with 20 minutes left to play in the half. At the 18:48 mark, Taylor Vaccaro netted a goal for SCAD to give them their first lead of the night. The Bees would not relinquish the lead for the rest of the night.
UT was able to pull within one at the 17:01 mark in the second half, but SCAD would go score five of the final seven goals to seal the victory.
Amanda Voges led the way for Tampa, as she recorded six points on the night.Voges would net five goals and dish out one assist. Mackenzie Perna would record a hat trick on the night, as well as record an assist.
The Spartans return back to action on Saturday, as they take on the Shorter University Hawks. The game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
