Spartans Drop Road Contest to Falcons
MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The University of Tampa women' s lacrosse team dropped a road contest to the Pfeiffer University Falcons on Thursday night by a final score of 16-6. Tampa now drops to 5-7 on the season, while Pfeiffer improves to 6-3.
After starting the game exchanging goals, the Spartans trailed the Falcons 5-3 with 7:11 left to play in the opening half. Pfeiffer then went on to score four unanswered goals to end the half with a commanding 9-3 lead.
Pfeiffer's continues their offensive explosion in the second half, as they went on a 5-0 run with 16:54 left in the half. The run stretched to the 3:35 mark, as the Falcons had a 16-5 lead.
Amanda Voges led the way for UT as she netted four goals on the night. Amanda Rom and Emilie Barbosa each added a goal and assist. Mackenzie Perna contributed with two assists.
Tampa will be back in action tomorrow, as they take on Lenior-Rhyne. Game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
