
Women's Lacrosse Named IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad
The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team garnered academic team honors while junior goalkeeper Jaime Austin was named to the IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll.
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association has announced its 2016 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads as well as its Academic Honor Roll, tabbing the University of Tampa as one of the 46 NCAA Division II programs to earn the accolade while junior graphic design major Jaime Austin earned a spot on the honor roll, as announced by the association office.
In order to qualify for the Academic Honor Squad, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, the student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
The Spartans concluded the year in postseason play, earning their first bid into the Sunshine State Conference Championship Tournament.
