
Bridget Sutter Earns D2 Women's Lacrosse HERO of the Week
Freshman Bridget Sutter earns Tampa women's lacrosse their first ever HERO of the Week honors.
TAMPA, Fla. – HERO Sports announced its women's lacrosse player of the week winner, tabbing University of Tampa goalie, Bridget Sutter.
HERO of the Week is the award for best individual performance of the week in each division of several NCAA sports. Nominees are posted at the beginning of each week and a fan vote determines the winner. Sutter wins this honor for her performance in Tampa's home opener against the No. 11 Rollins College Tars on 2/10/18. This is the first time in program history that a Spartan has won the HERO of the Week honor.
In the 10-6 upset against the Rollins College Tars, Sutter faced 17 shots in the cage, recording 11 saves for UT. In addition to holding Rollins College to six goals, the Evergreen, Colorado native played the entire 60 minutes for the Spartans. The win over Rollins also marked the first time in program history that the Spartans defeated a ranked opponent.
