
Sutter Snags SSC Defensive Player of the Week
For the second time in her freshman campaign, Bridget Sutter earns the SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
TAMPA, Fla.- The Sunshine State Conference announced its women's lacrosse player of the week winners, tabbing University of Tampa goalie Bridget Sutter as the Defensive Player of the Week. This is the second time that Sutter has earned the Defensive Player of the Week recognition for the Spartans.
Sutter wins Defensive Player of the Week following her performances against Florida Southern College and the Colorado State University-Pueblo. In the Spartans' one-goal loss to the No. 1 Florida Southern College, the freshman goalie faced 27 shots and recorded 14 saves in 60 minutes. In the Spartans 14-7 win over the CSU-Pueblo, the Evergreen, Colorado native logged six saves on thirteen shots. On the season, Sutter has recorded 111 saves and has earned a goal against average of 8.84.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of February 5 - February 11, 2018. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
