Spartans Announce 2022 Captains
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team has announced its captains for the 2022 season. Lizzie Pierpont, Erin Sistek, EmmaMcLoughlin, and Cece Colombo have earned the honor to lead the team this season.
Pierpont is a senior midfielder hailing from Centennial, Colorado. Pierpont has appeared in over 30 games for the Spartans the past three seasons -- in her career thus far, she has tallied 45 goals and 11 assists. As a junior, Pierpont successfully won 19 draw controls which was good for a career high. She has also been recognized for her efforts in the classroom. She received the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award while also being named to the Sunshine State Comminssioner's Honor Roll with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. This is her second consecutive season as a captain for the Spartans.
Sistek is a senior from who comes from White Hall, Maryland. Sistek has appeared in every game over the past three seasons for the Spartans. She has been a key contributor to the defense. Over the past three seasons, Sistek has collected 28 groundballs and has caused 20 turnovers. She earned earend a spot on the All-Region team for her performances. Off the field, Sistek has been named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll twice while also receiving the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. This is also her second consecutive season being named captain for the Spartans.
McLoughlin is a junior transfer from Bohemia, New York. This past season she was a key contributor for the Spartans appearing in 10 games. Last season she tallied 10 goals, collected five ground balls, and had six caused turnovers. As a sophomore she was named to the Sunshine State Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Colombo is a junior midfielder from Waxhaw, North Carolina. She has started in every game she has appeared in for the Spartans. In 17 games, she has 25 goals and 30 assists. Colombo also has a career total 20 ground balls, 57 draw controls, and has 21 caused trunovers. Last season, she earned a spot on the All-Region team and was named an IWLCA All-American. She is one of three Colombo sisters on the team. Colombo has been named to the Sunshine State Commissioner's Honor Roll twice while also receiving the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.
