GAMEDAY ADVANCE: Tampa continues play at home against Cabrini

TAMPA, Fla – The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team continue play at home as they take on Cabrini University, Thursday morning.

The Matchup: No. 13 University of Tampa (1-2) vs. Cabrini University (2-0)

Date/Time: Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:30 a.m.

Location: Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. 1120 West North A Street, Tampa, FL 33606

Series History: Tampa has never played Cabrini. This will be the first official meeting between the two teams, making it the start of a new series history.

About the Spartans: Tampa comes into the game having lost 10-11 in an overtime heartbreaker against No. 12 Regis University. Cece Colombo led the team with three goals and three assist. Alex Walling also had a season high of 11 saves. Tampa kept Regis on their toes the entire game pressuring them on defense. Both teams recorded 27 shots on goal, but Tampa couldn't secure the win. Following Tuesday's game, Tampa looks to pick up the pieces and grab a win in their matchup against Cabrini.

About the Cavaliers: The Cavaliers come into this game winning their second game of the season after cruising past Webber International. Olivia Little helped the team with four goals and eight ground balls. Dana Carlson followed behind her with three goals. The Cavaliers beat Webber 19-5. They come into this matchup the defending Atlantic East Conference champions looking to give Tampa some fierce competition.
