TAMPA, Fla – The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team head into the SSC Tournament championship to take on No. 11 Florida Southern at home.
The Matchup: #12 University of Tampa (11-6) vs. #11 Florida Southern (14-3)

Series History: The Spartans are behind in the series 2-10. In their last matchup against the Mocs, on April 6, they lost 19-23. Their last win came on April 28, 2019 when they won by one with a final score of 19-18.
About the Spartans: The Spartans cruise into this matchup with a dominate win against No.24 St. Leo. After going down by one in the first quarter, the Spartans fought their way back in the second quarter. From then on, the Spartans never went down again and controlled the remaining minutes of the game. Madison Birch and Sarah Hinkle had another dominate game with Birch leading with five goals and Hinkle recording four. Dani Waters found herself on the board with five groundballs reaching her 100th groundball of her career in the second quarter. The Spartans look to continue pushing into this matchup winning the SSC Tournament championship.
About the Mocs: The Mocs come into this matchup with a close win against No.14 Rollins College. They started the game going on a 3-0 run and finished the first quarter with a 6-1 lead. Rollins would come back cutting the game to 9-6 in the second quarter. Both teams would find the back of the net three different times at the start of the third quarter, ending that quarter 12-9. Despite this, the Mocs caught fire in the fourth quarter and made five unanswered goals to secure the win. Three Mocs scored more than a hattrick, Abby McFerren, Hailey Daleo, and Lizzy Lynch all scored four goals. This is the Mocs sixth straight SSC Tournament championship appearance and they look to sustain their power looking to win.
