
Alex Walling Chosen as SSC Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa women's lacrosse player Alex Walling has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
Walling garners Defensive Player of the Week accolades following her performance in Tampa's 14-9 win over No. 2 Adelphi. The San Diego native recorded 10 saves while facing 19 shots on goal and 26 total shots, finishing the contest with a .526 save percentage. Walling also picked up three ground balls in the Spartan victory.
This is the first time that Walling has been named SSC Player of the Week.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of February 20 - 26, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
