GAMEDAY ADVANCE: No. 7 Spartans Compete Against Frostburg State
TAMPA, Fla – The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team remain at home to compete against Frostburg State University tonight at 6 p.m.
The Matchup: #7 University of Tampa (7-2) vs. Frostburg State University (1-4)

Series History: This is the first matchup between Frostburg and Tampa. In this match, each team looks to get the series started by capturing the first win in the series.
About the Spartans: The Spartans breeze into this matchup coming off of a close win against No. 13 Mercy with a final score of 18-15. The game began with Tampa taking control early being up by four at the end of the first. The second quarter Mercy started their comeback attempt as they put themselves within two. Mercy started the third quarter with high intensity getting on the board first. They tied the game at 12 before taking their first lead of the night. It didn't last long as a goal by Gia Colombo put them back on top. Tampa's defense showed up in the fourth quarter closing up the middle preventing Mercy from scoring more than two goals. Three Spartans finished with a hattrick or more, Sarah Hinkle (5), Sophi Wrisk (3), and Gia Colombo (3). Cece Colombo won a season-high of eight draw controls while Olivia Mott lead with three assist. Emma McLoughlin also secured a new season-high of six groundballs. The Spartans look to add to their winning column locking in their eighth win of the season.
About the Bobcats: The Bobcats travel into Tampa coming off of a tough loss to Shepherd University with a final score of 12-10. The game started with the Bobcats getting on the board first but Shepherd quickly got on the board tying the game at 2-2 preventing Frostburg from scoring for the remainder of the first quarter. The Bobcats then went up 5-3 in the second, but Shepherd kicked their momentum into another gear scoring four goals going up 8-6 at halftime. The rest of the game Shepherd took control despite a last second comeback from the Bobcats in the forth quarter. Dahlia Trippel led the team with three goals, Julia Badolato right behind her with two.
