Dani Waters Named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week After Setting Program Mark
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Following a game in which she set a program mark, University of Tampa standout Dani Waters has been awarded Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Waters earns Defensive Player of the Week honors with her performance in Tampa's win against No. 8 Rollins (17-7). The grad student from Smithtown, New York, recorded a game-high four caused turnovers, along with three ground balls and a draw control in the win. Waters collected her 100th career caused turnover in the win, becoming the first Spartan to reach the mark.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of April 10 - 16, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
