No.2 Spartans Secure First NCAA Tournament Win in Program History
TAMPA, FL. – The No.2 University of Tampa women's lacrosse team wins their first NCAA Tournament game in program history and advance to the next round.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter: The game opened with Rollins winning the first draw control of the game going into setting up their offense. This quickly turned into a goal for Rollins as they put the first points on the board. Tampa's first offensive possession didn't result in anything, but they were eager to make it up on defense playing strong on the defensive end. Alex Walling contributed to this with a save preventing Rollins from getting on the board again too early. Although Rollins scored on a separate possession, Tampa finally found the back of the net with a goal from Riley McGettigan. The goals for the Spartans were scored as follows:

Second Quarter: The second quarter opened with another good defensive stunt from Tampa draining Rollins shot clock. Tampa came back with a goal from Sophi Wrisk to tie the game at two. From here, both teams exchanged scores tying the game at four. After a goal from Julia Kolderman, Tampa takes their first lead of the afternoon. They kept the ball rolling forcing Rollins to take a timeout and going up by three to finish the second quarter. The Spartan goals headed into halftime were scored as follows:

Third Quarter: The third quarter started with Tampa winning the draw control. This turned into a goal for Sarah Hinkle extending Tampa's lead. Rollins comes back scoring, cutting down Tampa's lead to three again. They then cut the deficit to two with 6:00 left. Rollins kept pushing scoring again putting themselves within one with 3:30 left. Tampa's lead was in jeopardy but they weren't giving up fighting until the end with a goal from Allie Peebles. Another goal from Kolderman closes out the third for Tampa keeping them on top. The Spartans goals were scored as follows:

Fourth Quarter: The last quarter started with Rollins getting on the board quickly putting the score at 13-11. Back to back saves from Walling stops Rollins momentum for a little bit. Rollins then scores back to back goals tying the game at 13 with 5:06 left. Cece Colombo was all over the field on the offensive end fighting for each possession after deflecting a pass from Rollins goalie which lead to a goal from Kolderman. Colombo scooped up the last draw control of the game to secure the win for the Spartans helping them advance to the next round in the NCAA Tournament. The Spartan goals for the fourth quarter were scored as follows:
