
Women's Lacrosse Sweeps SSC Awards
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team swept SSC Player of the Week accolades after the league office announced Monday afternoon that Sarah Engle and Lexi Waters were this week's winners.
Engle repeats as Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts in Tampa's 20-6 win over No. 3 Adelphi. The Ocean City, Maryland native tallied a game-high six goals off eight shots and seven shots on goal; she was 1-1 in free position opportunities. Engle also totaled five draw controls, one ground ball, and a caused turnover in the victory.
Waters made her mark all over the stat sheet in Tampa's 20-6 win over No. 3 Adelphi. The Smithton, New York senior led all players with a career-high eight draw controls. She also tallied a career-high four caused turnovers along with four ground balls in the victory. Offensively, Waters recorded two points in the contest with a goal and an assist.
